We offer TWO EXCITING PROGRAMMES for New Zealanders wishing to travel overseas and experience ANOTHER WORLD!

AU PAIR - Au Pairing abroad is a great way to immerse yourself in an exciting new culture, gain self-confidence and have fun.

VOLUNTEER - Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a rewarding community project, develop new skills, (utilise current ones!) and make new friends. We have partnered with Volunteers for International Partnership (VIP) to offer you an exciting range of countries and projects.

What is an Au Pair?

An Au Pair lives and works for a host family in the country of your choice. You help with childcare and housework for a certain number of hours each week in exchange for room, board and a weekly allowance.

You do not need formal training(like a Nanny) but you must have sole charge child minding experience. This childcare does not include babysitting children when they are asleep. We require two childcare references.Read more...

What is a volunteer?

A volunteer contributes work to a community in need, in the country of your choice. Your skills and services may be needed in city, rural or forest projects, e.g. working with street kids in Turkey, eco-conservation in the Amazon,rural health posts in Ghana, small business projects for women in Guatemala, education in India and lots more. • AU PAIRS - With over 20 years of experience with Au Pair placements, we offer a high level of personal service, and work hard to match you with a carefully screened family. During your stay with your host family we regularly e-mail you (to see how you are) plus we also offer local support, regular local contact and an emergency support facility.
  
  

• VOLUNTEERS - VIP partner organizations represent decades of national and international leadership in cultural exchange. You will be offered a support network consisting of staff, mentors and local advisors who are available throughout the programme. Also a carefully developed system of communication and support is available in the event of an emergency.

MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR:

I am Mieko Cains, the Director of these very rewarding programmes. I am originally from Japan and have been married to my kiwi husband for 40 years.

I was on a working holiday in New Zealand 40 years ago. Travelling to the other side of the world then was not as easy as it is today! However, I felt like a real trail blazer and took the big leap overseas. I was electrified with curiosity and wanted to see this amazing world with my own eyes.

Visiting New Zealand gave me an awesome opportunity to learn a different culture and way of life. This experience has been both rewarding and challenging and has enriched my cultural knowledge. I have discovered the value of community spirit!

A 'once in a lifetime' overseas experience like Au Pairing and volunteering is a great way to broaden your knowledge of people, culture and even yourself!
